Tragedy struck in Flagler county on October 7, 2015. Our hearts go out to the family of Kymora Christian, a 7-year-old girl, who was hit by a vehicle and killed. This accident happened on Whippoorwill Drive and Winter Haven Court in Palm Coast, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Kymora Christian was a student at Wadsworth Elementary School.
At 8:13 a.m. Melissa Bean-Meeth struck Kymora and called 911. She told the emergency dispatcher that she was driving her son to school when the accident occurred.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the accident. Palm Coast Fire Department paramedics also responded.
Emergency responders reported that Kymora suffered severe head trauma. The emergency responders attempted to revive Kymora. Kymora’s mother arrived at the scene and traveled with her daughter to Florida Hospital Flagler where the child was pronounced dead according to the Florida Highway Patrol
This accident happened in an area of Palm Coast that has long, winding streets with no sidewalks. The speed limit is posted at 30 mph.
This is the third accident that has involved a child being hit by a motor vehicle in Flagler County since the start of this school year.
